Ah, Spring. Truly a reminder that beauty is pain. At least that’s how it feels as we drag our watery eyes and itchy noses through Philly’s newly lush, pollen-drenched streets, perpetually on the verge of an earth-shattering sneeze.

Well, pop a Benadryl and take a hit off the ol’ inhaler, ‘cause we’re about to take you on a walk through the garden of tech jobs.

If The Office taught us anything—and frankly it taught us a lot—it’s that those co-manager roles can sure get confusing. Previously led by two CEOs, startup incubator and entrepreneurial coworking community 1776 is now solely at run by Jenn Maher. The leadership shakeup was “aimed at having clearer, more defined roles” as the organization continues to grow its footprint. And you know what a growth spurt means, people: time to buy new pants. Or, in this case, hire more employees. Get in there.

Brightside — a startup focused on reducing financial stress for employees — just received a $4-million seed round from Comcast Ventures. The financial-health platform offers financial planning that makes a direct impact on net income. Clearly this company understands just how real the struggle can get. Excited by the mission? Introduce yourself.

It’s lit.” Mayor Jim Kenney delighted a packed house of tech enthusiasts and reminded us he’s hip to the kid’s lingo at Philly Tech Week’s Mayoral Tech Town Hall. While we don’t know exactly what he was referring to, let’s assume it’s Philly’s growing range of organizations dedicated to lighting a fire under the bums of promising startups and small businesses. That list includes the city-supported StartUp PHL, Salesforce’s Growth Camp Philadelphia and the recent launch of Brazen Philly for female entrepreneurs. Considering starting your own biz?
