I haven't seen many Waymos out and about, but this past weekend I saw a couple charging in a parking garage near REI in Northeast. I wonder where else the cars power up for testing? I'm going to keep an eye out, let me know if you see them.

It's a big week over here at Technical.ly. We published our annual RealLIST Connectors, where we recognize 20 of the ecosystem's most connective leaders — scroll down to meet them.

Plus, SBIR is back, but there are some big changes to be aware of. We broke down a new funding opportunity, different proposal caps and (no surprise here) increased scrutiny for companies with foreign ties. Details below.

SBIR 101

More than 6,700 of these grants are given out in a typical year, but Interested companies must now navigate key changes — most of which stemmed from the congressional debates that led to the funding pause in the first place.

For example, there will be restrictions on how many proposals a company can submit, to address what are referred to as SBIR mills. Then here's the international screening. Plus, a bridge funding pool to address the dreaded "Valley of Death." Continue reading ...
