DMV data storage dominance?

Hey there, DC. If you’re one of the many folks affiliated with the nearby data centers in Northern Virginia, it turns out you’re really, really not alone.

A new report from the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) found that in 2021, the NoVA data center industry provided approximately 15,000 jobs in Virginia. Plus, the state’s data centers, directly and indirectly, generated $174 million in state revenue and $1 billion in local tax revenue — in other words, they're putting a big chunk of change into Virginia’s wallet. According to NVTC, the data centers are also a big draw for investment into DC’s tech scene, as well.

Are you part of the data center diaspora? Tell us your story at .
